Neurologic diseases in horses are common in our area.
There are a multitude of reasons why a horse may become neurological.
South Carolina has had reported cases of the West Nile, Eastern Encephalitis
and Rabies viruses. The protozoa responsible for EPM are also commonly
seen in our state as well. Many toxic plants cause liver failure and
subsequently, neurological signs. The veterinarians at this clinic
are capable of examining your horse and retrieving blood and spinal
fluid for a diagnosis. All neurological cases are considered urgent
